The LET Database Now Contains 300,000 Product Lines

ListEdTech

Most of the time, we talk about other companies and new products in education. It’s normal: this is our core business, this is what defines us. This blog post is slightly different as we take this opportunity to celebrate a big milestone: the 300,000 product lines listed in our database.

When ListEdTech was launched in September 2014, we focused our energies on higher education institutions. We soon realized that we needed to add the full spectrum of education to become a reference in the industry. Today, we are proud to say that we have data covering K-12 and higher education for more than 30 product categories. It now takes us about a month to add a new product category.

While it took us almost five years to hit the 100,000 mark (July 2019), it took us less than two years (April 2021) to double this amount. The journey to get from 200,000 to 300,000 product lines only took five quarters. The company, which started as an idea to provide better edtech data with two part-time employees, is now one with a team of 23 dedicated employees scattered around the globe.

Working with the big companies without forgetting the smaller ones

Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with a third of the big edtech firms, half of the biggest private equity firms and almost half of top consulting firms.

Our data was used to understand potential acquisitions, focus on potential clients as well as understand market trends.

We love discovering new products that help institutions better support their students, staff members and professors.

What’s next for ListEdTech?

The future looks bright for the company, its clients and its collaborators. As stated before, we have accomplished a lot for businesses and vendors. We have played a role in several acquisitions and mergers (and have also helped stop a few). As part of our key priorities for the upcoming year, we will offer a new data interpretation service thanks to the newest addition to the team, James Wiley. We will also continue to gather more data and provide excellent customer service to our existing and new clients.

Who Are HigherEd’s Tech Leaders?

This year, I’ve been revisiting some of the classic business books: Blue Ocean Shift, Free, The Innovator’s Dilemma, Zero to One, and of course, Crossing the Chasm. That last one really got me thinking about early adopters. In tech markets, they’re the people (or in HigherEd, the institutions) who are comfortable taking risks, trying something new, and shaping the market ... Who Are HigherEd’s Tech Leaders?  Read More

Anthology’s Chapter 11 Filing: Breaking Up to Refocus

September 2025 marked a major turning point for Anthology, the owner of Blackboard and several other higher education technology platforms. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. after efforts to sell itself or parts of its business outside of court failed. The filing is not a liquidation. Instead, it is a structured reorganization designed to ... Anthology’s Chapter 11 Filing: Breaking Up to Refocus  Read More

Rethinking Market Saturation in EdTech

Market saturation is a concept we often discuss at ListEdTech because it comes up frequently with our clients. Investors want to know if a market still has room to grow, while startups want to understand whether they are entering a space with opportunities or one that is already crowded. Last year, we explored saturation by ... Rethinking Market Saturation in EdTech  Read More
